Biography

Dr Suresh Kishanrao, popularly known as Dr K. Suresh studies medical courses in MBBS, MD in Preventive and Social Medicine and a PG Diploma in Industrial Health. Starting his career with Health Department of Karnataka, as Medical Officer of Health in Rural Primary Health Centers for 9 years since 9th July 1968.  After doing PG course in Public Health, he worked in Urban Leprosy Center and District TB Center and then State Immunization Officer for 5 years since 1985. His second innings was to join as an epidemiologist UNICEF India Country Office in September 1989 rising to Sr. Program Officer- Health, at NO-D level in 1990 until his retirement in January 2006. Then his third innings began as practicing family physician with special interest in Diabetes care at Diabetic Foundation India, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi till March 2018. Relocating to Bengaluru in April 2018 his fourth innings began as i) Family Physician, visiting Professor of Practice for Masters in Public Health course at Karnataka (Mahatma Gandhi -now) State Rural Development University (KSRDPRU/MGRDPRU) and a couple of other Academic Institutes and as a freelance Public Health (Child) Consultant for WHO, World Bank and UNICEF, PwC, KPMG, AMALTA India and Development Facilitator etc. in India, Bhutan, Nepal. Ethiopia and Azerbaijan.
