Title: Every nurse is a risk manager

Abstract

This program will provide the audience with a description of what risk management is and why it is crucial to healthcare and patient safety. The presenter will address key components of an effective risk program and offer real world examples of how ineffective risk management can lead to patient harm. The audience will learn effective solutions for how to assess for risk in their health system and implement immediate changes to improve patient care, outcomes and satisfaction. Every nurse and nurse manager needs to understand and learn risk management in order to be effective leader and manager.
