Title: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and adulthood diagnosis

Abstract

This presentation will highlight the significant rise in ADHD diagnoses and management in the primary care setting since the COVID-19 pandemic. We will review contributing factors such as increased mental health awareness, social media influence, life stressors, telehealth access, and symptom overlap with anxiety, depression and burnout. This session will also examine diagnostic challenges that presents with the adult patient, risk of over and under diagnosis, and best practices based on evidence based assessment and management in primary care.
